What is the main difference between silicone based lubricants and water based lubricants?
Both our water-based and silicone lubricants are great products. The choice of one over the other often comes down to personal choice. Our water-based products have a wonderful, natural feel and are very slippery! On the other hand our silicone-based ID Millennium is lighter in consistency and has less slip, but lasts and lasts. All water-based lubricants dry eventually as the water will evaporate. Many silicone lubricants (including ID Millennium) contain no water so they are exceptionally long lasting.

There are other differences too. Both types are safe with latex and polyurethane. We recommend using water-based lubricant with toys. If the toy is made of silicone, silicone based lubricant will break down the material. (It becomes sticky!) Silicone lubricant works underwater so it is the choice for the shower or bath. But be careful! Silicone is very slippery and will remain on bath surfaces until washed away with soap and water. While both lubricants are moisturizers and can be left on, our water-based products rinse off easily with water. ID Millennium can be washed away with soap and water.

I have sensitive skin and allergies. What type of lubricant should I use?
ID Moments was developed for people with sensitive skin. It's delicate, ultra-mild and hypoallergenic. As with any product one should confirm that they are not allergic to any of the ingredients before use. If not sure contact your doctor for more information.

Why would I want to use flavored lubricant?
Flavored lubricants – like all 12 varieties of ID Juicy Lube can definitely lend excitement to your lovemaking as they make oral sex much more enjoyable, and can mask the smell of latex from condoms. If you’re using condoms, make sure the lube you choose is safe to use with them.

Why use a personal lubricant?
There are so many reasons why one would choose to use a personal lubricant. First and foremost would be to assist in providing pleasure and comfort during intimate activity. When using condoms, the use of a added lubricant provides more sensation for both partners as well as lessens the chances of condom breakage. Other reasons may be stemmed to a medical condition or the natural aging process. It's in these times that personal lubricant can make up for what nature can’t.

Can lubricants be used with sex toys?
Yes, as long as the lubricant being used is a water based lubricant. Silicone and oil based lubricants may destroy or damage your toys.

How much lubricant should I use?
This is a personal preference. It’s best to start with a small amount of lubricant and work your way up to the amount that provides you with the perfect feel for you. It’s important to be comfortable, but excessive use will make you slide around too much and might cause a condom to slip off. Experiment to find out exactly how much (or little) works for you!

Can lube replace condoms, spermicide or other birth control methods?
Personal lubricants should never be used as birth control or to prevent pregnancies, and it will not protect you from sexually transmitted diseases (STD’s).
